Blog News/ Updates

Instead of writing a review tonight, I have prioritised updates. Basically instead of posting 3 times a week - Monday, Wednesday and Saturday - I have reduced this number to just 2 nights. Now some of you might be thinking "Why on earth would you do that?". Well, it's not that I don't dedicate enough time to my blog, as I constantly advertise, and involve myself in the horror community everyday. The quality of the posts is the problem.

Night of the Living Dead (1968) - favourite zombie horror

For me, this film, produced in 1968 originally black and white, is my favourite zombie film. It is honestly one of my favourite horrors of all time. It doesn't matter if it's really old, or lacks in quality. It is a masterpiece. I thought to myself - surely this film cannot deliver such an exquisite horror, after being made in 1968.

The House Of The Devil (1896)

The house of the devil is also known as "le manoir du diable" and is the first horror film ever to be made. You could call it a "horror film" although it really is a short horror due to its short run time. It consists of no sound whatsoever, and contains merely a bunch of random black and white animations. I think it is really funny and cool to see though, as a bat suddenly turns into a man, and it is pretty bizarre to watch. Some of the animations actually gave me goose bumps.

War Of The Worlds (2005) - decent sci-fi thriller

I have always adored this film since the first time I seen it. I remember when I first watched it - I was absolutely terrified, being only a young boy, and I had a pillow in front of my face for the majority of the film. It's quite funny actually when I think about it. Although, I've seen it several times since then and I must admit, it's a really good thriller in my opinion.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (2013) - average action thriller

I began watching this film without expecting anything extremely good at all really. However, I had to watch it as one of my favourite fantasy tales when I was young was Hansel & Gretel. I was rather intrigued that a fantasy tale had been created into a gory thriller, and felt as though I had to see it. Not only does this film address the story,

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) - Fantastic Depp!

Yes, I'm sorry to all you guys that hate horror musicals. Some people argue that musicals shouldn't even be associated with horror. I completely agree, however with the famous Johnny Depp in this film, I couldn't turn it down. After not expecting a lot from this film, I loved it. The acting was incredible, as was the gore content.

Elena - Chapter 8

Malcolm woke rather freshly at around 10am the following morning with thoughts bombarding inside his head as to what had happened the previous night. He looked to his left to see Cindy sleeping very peaceful which was good to see. However, he was still disturbed by her behaviour. Before attempting to wake Cindy without any violence or shouting, he went down for some breakfast. He tidied up the remainders of the wreck from the previous night, and within 5 minutes, he began to make some tea.

The Sixth Sense (1999) - Exceptional Psychological Thriller

What an absolutely fantastic piece of work directed by M. Night Shyamala. Honestly after watching this film I was overwhelmed. Not only is the film itself exceptional, but the film is perfectly concluded with a twist. One that you perhaps may have not expected, however I anticipated it coming later into the film. I'll do my best not to address any sort of spoilers but the ending is remarkable.
