Well, I'm telling you, Rob Reiner's 'Misery' is an intensely exciting thriller, which contains several moments of suspense and shock. The film revolves around a central character who is a novelist named Paul Sheldon (played by James Caan), and is rescued by his 'number one fan' - Annie Wilkes (played by Kathy Bates) after his tragic car crash on his way home.
From this, she takes Paul to her house and acts as a nurse for him. However, once Paul is close to being fit enough to walk again, she holds him hostage until he completes a book upon her request. Paul has several attempts to escape throughout the film and Annie, who becomes growingly reckless with no patience reacts violently and leaves Paul shattered.
This is an ideal thriller which lasts for roughly 107 minutes, and is thereby highly recommended due to the nerve-wracking attempts of Paul to escape the house of the psychotic Anna Wilkes.
In conclusion, it is regarded as a definite 8.5/10 in my opinion, and requires a watch to complete your own list of favourite thriller movies.
What could be better than a thriller to finish off a good Tuesday?
