Elena - Chapter 5

Malcolm jumped at the sight of the missing bunny rabbit teddy and cursed quickly under his breath. "What's the matter?" Cindy exclaimed rather anxiously. Malcolm did not reply to this but merely, and very slowly, raised his hand to point his finger towards the desk where the bunny rabbit teddy was last seen. Cindy quickly glared round at this location and her eyes widened wider in pure shock. "Oh my God, what is happening! " said Cindy nervously.

My Soul To Take (2010) - really Wes Craven?

This shocker of a horror is a fine example of today's horrors and how they are such a letdown compared to your horrors from the 20th century. I would seriously recommend that no one goes near this horror as it is complete trash as the ratings below will show:-

Elena - Chapter 4

What sat calmly on the pavement was the same small bunny rabbit teddy he had seen the little girl holding at the airport. He was completely shocked by this and was very desperate to figure out what was going on. After a few moments, he quickly sprinted down the house stairs, and almost broke the door down in a rush to get to this creepy bunny rabbit. There was a complete change in his pace as he began to calm down and slowly walk towards this soft doll which sat perfectly on the pavement. A few steps closer, within every second.

Chernobyl Diaries (2012) - Decent Thriller

I nearly went to see this horror in the cinema as I thought it looked different to any other horror/thriller. After watching it, I was fairly impressed with it. I wouldn't say I thought it was amazing, but I would certainly disagree with anyone who thought it was absolutely terrible. Take a look at some online ratings:-

The Mist (2007) - impressive modern Sci-Fi thriller

I was quite impressed with this film. Similarly to any other modern thriller I have seen, I misjudged this thinking it would be full of overpowered CGI and a pathetic story line. Well I was very intrigued and on the opposite side of the fence to my initial opinion after watching this. I highly recommend this film to anyone. It has a different kind of approach that any other horror would as it seems to go into a lot of depth with the central characters, and conveys the extremities they can reach when being under chaotic situations.

Elena - Chapter 3

The thought of poor Elena was gripping the mind of Malcolm for the whole night. Coming to Bennanio on vacation again however this time to find out it had been demolished and an innocent little girl was crushed under the rubble. Now all the inhabitants of Bennanio were staying in this place called Storevio. He woke early in the morning - roughly around 7:00 to hearing someone thumping on the door as loud as possible. Malcolm quickly ran down the stairs of his newly located house in attempt to quickly open the door before this person woke up Cindy. He opened the door to the sight of Baldo, somehow exhausted and slightly sweaty. "Oh, hello there. Please, come in." said Malcolm. Without any hesitation Baldo quickly entered the house and sat down on the seat that Malcolm offered him to sit down on.

Infliction (2013) - decent found footage horror

When I received my copy of Infliction in from the post, I was stuck in two minds. I am not a fan of any type of tape recordings horrors at all, but I felt like this film would perhaps change my mind as I did like the sound of it. Unfortunately after watching it, my opinion towards found-footage films remained the same, but I have to say - this was a really good film in my opinion. I was quite surprised in the end to have enjoyed it since it was found-footage but I guess that's a lesson for me not to misjudge films too quickly.

Two films you should forever avoid!

Trust me on this one. It is highly recommended for you that you do not watch the following movies I will talk about for your own safety, and definitely for the faint hearted! Anyway, the two most gruesome and generally terrible films I have seen in my life are The Human Centipede 1(2009) and 2(2011). Somehow each of them obtain a score higher than 3.5 on IMDB, but I reckon for me they would score two out of ten at the maximum. It is a complete shock to see them listed in the horror genre, as for me they completely destroy it and give every other film a bad name.

Elena - Chapter 2

How could this possibly have happened? This was the thought rampaging around the insides of Malcolm's head as he glared at the rubble in shock. What used to be the beautiful village of Bennanio was now complete rubble. The little houses that Malcolm and Cindy would walk past on their way to the local bar lay in large crumpled piles on the ground.
"This is a disaster!" exclaimed Cindy. "How could we possibly have booked a holiday here? Surely this must have happened in the past week or so" Malcolm mumbled in complete curiosity. Malcolm and Cindy both quickly discussed whether this could perhaps have been some sort of earthquake or a general planned demolition of the beautiful village.

Friday The 13th Part 2 (1981) - Jason returns!

(WARNING REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)
I watched this film with a question. Will we finally see the face of Jason or will the franchise continue with concealing this thrilling killer? About halfway into the film, people were still being killed by someone who was recording in first person until about the last 20 minutes of the film. Yes, we finally saw Jason himself! So about three quarters into the film, we came across the initial appearance of him. Just a guy wearing casual clothes, with some sort of cloth mask over his head. I was thrilled to finally see him, and watching the second film for so long. I was very impressed with the ending in the film in particular.

Orphan (2009) - very creepy film!

(WARNING REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)
So after watching many remakes and films with similar concepts and plots in the decade of the 2000's, I thought of this horror to be another lame failure. I remember clearly setting out to watch this at the weekend with very low expectations. Since the year 2000, I have been forced to watch modern horror really as I have seen most of the horror films from the 70's to 90's. However, I was rather impressed with this thrilling, mysterious film. Not only was it not a remake, but for once in the 2000's, the film was completely unlike any other classic produced years ago.
