Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) - Fantastic Depp!

Yes, I'm sorry to all you guys that hate horror musicals. Some people argue that musicals shouldn't even be associated with horror. I completely agree, however with the famous Johnny Depp in this film, I couldn't turn it down. After not expecting a lot from this film, I loved it. The acting was incredible, as was the gore content.

Elena - Chapter 8

Malcolm woke rather freshly at around 10am the following morning with thoughts bombarding inside his head as to what had happened the previous night. He looked to his left to see Cindy sleeping very peaceful which was good to see. However, he was still disturbed by her behaviour. Before attempting to wake Cindy without any violence or shouting, he went down for some breakfast. He tidied up the remainders of the wreck from the previous night, and within 5 minutes, he began to make some tea.

Awesome new horror web series! - Damnata

Once I came across the Damnata project, I was pretty interested to see how the same content is covered through comics, gaming and even now online! Basically, Damnata is a cross-platform project which merges gaming, comics, and online activity together through following the haunted life of the protagonist Elizabeth Kovacs and a unique and rich demon mythology.

Chernobyl Diaries (2012) - Decent Thriller

I nearly went to see this horror in the cinema as I thought it looked different to any other horror/thriller. After watching it, I was fairly impressed with it. I wouldn't say I thought it was amazing, but I would certainly disagree with anyone who thought it was absolutely terrible. Take a look at some online ratings:-

The Mist (2007) - impressive modern Sci-Fi thriller

I was quite impressed with this film. Similarly to any other modern thriller I have seen, I misjudged this thinking it would be full of overpowered CGI and a pathetic story line. Well I was very intrigued and on the opposite side of the fence to my initial opinion after watching this. I highly recommend this film to anyone. It has a different kind of approach that any other horror would as it seems to go into a lot of depth with the central characters, and conveys the extremities they can reach when being under chaotic situations.

Elena - Chapter 3

The thought of poor Elena was gripping the mind of Malcolm for the whole night. Coming to Bennanio on vacation again however this time to find out it had been demolished and an innocent little girl was crushed under the rubble. Now all the inhabitants of Bennanio were staying in this place called Storevio. He woke early in the morning - roughly around 7:00 to hearing someone thumping on the door as loud as possible. Malcolm quickly ran down the stairs of his newly located house in attempt to quickly open the door before this person woke up Cindy. He opened the door to the sight of Baldo, somehow exhausted and slightly sweaty. "Oh, hello there. Please, come in." said Malcolm. Without any hesitation Baldo quickly entered the house and sat down on the seat that Malcolm offered him to sit down on.

Friday The 13th Part 2 (1981) - Jason returns!

(WARNING REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)
I watched this film with a question. Will we finally see the face of Jason or will the franchise continue with concealing this thrilling killer? About halfway into the film, people were still being killed by someone who was recording in first person until about the last 20 minutes of the film. Yes, we finally saw Jason himself! So about three quarters into the film, we came across the initial appearance of him. Just a guy wearing casual clothes, with some sort of cloth mask over his head. I was thrilled to finally see him, and watching the second film for so long. I was very impressed with the ending in the film in particular.

Orphan (2009) - very creepy film!

(WARNING REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)
So after watching many remakes and films with similar concepts and plots in the decade of the 2000's, I thought of this horror to be another lame failure. I remember clearly setting out to watch this at the weekend with very low expectations. Since the year 2000, I have been forced to watch modern horror really as I have seen most of the horror films from the 70's to 90's. However, I was rather impressed with this thrilling, mysterious film. Not only was it not a remake, but for once in the 2000's, the film was completely unlike any other classic produced years ago.

World War Z 3D (2013) - sublime action thriller

(WARNING! REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)
Marc Foster's World War Z is an absolutely exceptional film based on the spread of a new virus, leading to an 'infected' society - in other words - what you may call a zombie outbreak. However, in my opinion, I wouldn't refer to the infected as 'zombies' as they seem too wild to be the normal 'zombies' you used to see decades ago. I would nowadays call them merely - 'infected' humans. I miss the old days, where zombies were awesome to see, wandering around slowly in attempt to find any human meat (however we still see it in the Walking Dead).

Fantastic Horror Classic - The Thing (1982)

One of the greatest horror classics ever! I really enjoyed this awesome film. To have been made in 1982 I was very impressed by the quality in it, as I only seen this film about 5 years ago. I have grown up through the era of overpowered and needless CGI in most horrors, and tons of captured footage horrors. I'm telling you, this is a fantastic film, and if you haven't seen it, it's a classic that you can't pass bye. There was a remake for this classic in 2011 which I thought was decent, but you can't watch the remake if you haven't watching the older version, right?

The Purge: Anarchy (2014) - More white-masked strangers roaming the streets

(WARNING - I must warn everyone first by telling you that there may be several spoilers for anyone who has not seen the film as I am reviewing the entire film)
I went to see this sequel to The Purge (2013) last night not expecting anything that great. The first Purge in 2013 was heavily criticised however, not by me. I did enjoy the first film but there were some slight negative aspects to it, and it was too short. I felt that The Purge: Anarchy was a much better production being longer, having a better story in my opinion, and you could expect anything coming! I mean even the scares, some of them came from completely nowhere, from normal talking scenes before the Purge actually commenced. This was a feature I found worked very well, since in the first Purge, every scare was expected because it was so silent.

Interesting thriller - The Others (2001)

Whilst I was on vacation it struck me to see The Others on the television. As far as I can remember, I was sure this was the first horror I had ever watched, and I thought it was terrifying! This is a really interesting, awesome film guys that definitely deserves a review. You may not necessarily find it classified as a 'horror' similarly to Child's Play, however it is another fantastic film that absolutely nails the eerie silenced atmosphere to establish great tension and even some jump scares.

Child's Play (1988) - Got to love Chucky!

I didn't watch this thriller until about 2009, and oh my I was amazed. To have been made in 1988, the film completely exceeded my expectations. Yeah it sounds pretty cool - a wicked little doll (good guy) following his plot to escape his plastic figure body and to take the soul of a poor innocent little child. Sounds pretty nasty too doesn't it? This film, in my opinion, is absolutely remarkable and is most definitely worth a watch! Guys if you haven't seen this film yet then wow, where have you been? What really impressed me was how incredible the voice for the evil little doll Chucky was played by Brad Dourif. His voice is perfect for the role of Chucky - very rough, and extremely nasty. It was very successful in portraying this very small doll into a powerful, frightening little character who you would not want to mess with!

My ghost/paranormal adventures on my holiday!

I would like to firstly apologise for any inconvenience I may have caused whilst I was away on my holiday in Italy. Since the date of my departure (28th June), I have not made a blog post and so I am going to make this as best as possible to make up for the time I was away. Also, I hope I have not lost the support from any of you guys because you provide me with sustained, awesome support which is still clear from my 4000 page views on this blog! So thanks a lot everyone!
Anyway, let me continue developing my blog by telling you about my fantastic, but in some cases spooky holiday and all the strange and if you like 'paranormal' events I believe I encountered. Aside the scary incidents I was involved in, some of the locations in the mountains I visited were beautiful! I was situated in an absolutely remarkable setting in the mountains named 'Boveglio' in the province of 'Lucca'.

Dark Realm - by Ron Fitzgerald - awesome illusionist!

Ron Fitzgerald's 'Dark Realm' is the story of a Master illusionist inspired by the Occult who may actually be in league with evil forces to assure his success. His deadly secret may also bring destruction upon himself, and everyone else in his macabre show. The reason why I recommend you check this awesome film out is because it is a unique combination of both Ron Fitzgerald's Gothic Illusion performances , accompanied very well with a horror film narrative.
This film is not docudrama, not just full of performance footage, but something distinctive. It is something completely different which you will probably have never seen before. Never before in the genres of horror or magic has this kind of film project been attempted. This award-winning independent feature film is based on Master Gothic Illusionist Ron Fitzgerald's stage show "Fitzgerald's Realm of Magic", featuring his dark, edgy, supernatural illusions, alongside a horror storyline to produce the unique atmosphere.

Preview - 2015 Psychological Horror - The Chair

I decided to preview another awesome looking horror which is estimated to be released in 2015.  The Chair is a psychological horror which is created by Peter Simeti, and it revolves around the graphic novel of The Chair if you guys have read it - it's pretty awesome, hence explaining why I am looking forward to this awesome thriller coming in 2015.
As well as being a psychological horror, it contains aspects of strong crime and themes of capital punishment, child abuse, mental health, and the criminal justice system. The Chair is also not really considered as your average horror film, as it isn't like one of your slasher films, where you may find yourself running away from the film to escape the view of a masked man with a horrific weapon. The Chair seems like a very different film - perhaps more of an ugly tale, full of ugly people, and a realistic portrayal set in the realm of fiction.
The film is directed by Chad Ferrin, the screenplay designed by Erin Kohut, and the fantastic story itself is created by Peter Simeti.
The plot of this epic horror revolves around Richard Sullivan (Brian Thompson) as you will see on your right, who is an innocent man struggling to escape execution on death row.

Mystery Thriller! - Devil (2010)

So as promised guys, this article will make up for me rescheduling Friday's weekly post to today, which I hope will be epic due to the inconvenience I may have caused. Also, I noticed huge support on my blog post last night reviewing The Grudge, so I must give a huge thanks to all of you who checked it out and especially those who re-tweeted it on Twitter!
Anyways, I felt that Devil was a rather unique, and different horror than any other horror film. It sits comfortably under the 'mystery' sub-genre of horror, since the audience becomes very curious and puzzled as to how certain events occur. It is a very thrilling film in my opinion, being released only a few years ago, and the atmosphere is insane! It really is a frightening movie, full of creepy paranormal incidents within a single elevator!
The film is directed by John Erick Dowdle, and lasts 80 minutes overall which may seem short in comparison to other thrillers I have reviewed, but it's a great movie. The plot is very straightforward and is based in Philadelphia, based around Detective Bowden (Chris Messina), who we discover is still grieving over the deaths of his wife and son, who were killed in a hit-and-run incident years ago.

Creepy psychological horror film - The Grudge (2004)

'The Grudge' is another one of your eerie Japanese thrillers that is rated very low on IMDB, and I am not stereotyping at all here, but I'm pretty sure a lot of people from the UK aren't very keen in Japanese thrillers. I really don't know why to be honest, but I think this film is fantastic and is very 'jumpy' and spooky for a Saturday night. The Gothic-like 'grudge girl' is what makes this film so special, as she takes on the traditional 'scary girl' appearance - wearing a sparkling white dress, with her black carelessly combed all over her face. This image of a disturbed young girl seems to really startle everyone, especially with some accompanied thrilling background music, occasionally boosted to give someone the unexpected 'jump scare'. This is what I feel really makes this film so eerie.

Thriller for Saturday! - The Birds (1963)

This film, in my opinion is one of the greatest oldest horrors in existence. Now, you may consider this not to be a horror, as I feel that is more a thriller than anything. I seen this film a long time ago, when I was very young and it give me a lot of nightmare's. Also in addition, I felt frightened within a close distance with any type of bird. Although, I am fine now haha.
The film is directed by the famous Alfred Hitchcock, and lasts a whopping 119 minutes, being very long for a horror in contrast to the lengths of a lot of today's modern horrors. The plot revolves around Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren) who is a very rich socialite and seems to be a bit of a 'spoiled brat'. After she enters a pet shop, lawyer Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor) plays a practical joke on her after noticing her, and she decides to return the favour. She travels about an hour north of San Francisco to Bodega Bay where Mitch spends the weekend with his mother Lydia Brenner (Jessica Tandy), and his younger sister Cathy Brenner (Veronica Cartright).
